Chronic Pain Therapy

Chronic pain therapy that works is hard to come by, and this is while chronic pain is becoming more common. The most frequently affected areas for chronic pain include the lower back as well as neck and shoulders.

Does The Following Resonate With Your Experience?

Often, the medical approach comes to its limits very fast where chronic pain is concerned. MRI scans will often show up little or nothing concrete. Drugs may result in some pain relief, but more often than not come with a long list of potential side effects.

Alternative and complementary therapies may result in some improvement, but often the sufferer's experience is that nothing they try gets to the core of the pain issue.

Pain is Encoded in the Brain

This is because in the end of the day the experience of pain, as much as it is a physical experience, results from faulty encoding in the brain. Brothers Dr. Ronald Ruden, and Dr. Steven Ruden, founders of Havening Techniques®, spent ten years reviewing the available research in neuroscience until they established exactly how this process works.

Every time we experience minor or major trauma, AMPA receptors are activated on the lateral nucleus of the amygdala which encode this trauma permanently.

The trauma encoding will then express itself in a number of ways in your life. For example, it could lead to fears and phobias or anxiety. It could also lead to chronic pain.

The more traumas are 'piled in' on top of one another over the years, the more the brain starts to generalize. Subsequent encoding will more and more easily lead to the same outcomes and pain levels may increase over time.

Havening Techniques® and Chronic Pain Therapy

The good news is that this encoding can be dismantled very reliably using Havening Techniques®. Havening touch can set a neuro-chemical process in motion whereby the AMPA receptors on the amygdala are depotentiated and ultimately reabsorbed. Once reabsorbed, the chronic pain would disappear.

Often, people come to Havening only once they have tried everything else. If you are curious to find out more or to try this novel neuro-science based approach, please feel free to give me a call for a non-committal chat where I can answer any questions you may have and when we can explore any concerns you may have.
